Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.

From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

*that is, the true Christian church of all times and all places

  2. Fuk Lam Church teaches disciples to love one another as a commitment and to build a cell church filled with love. (Hebrews 10:24-25; John 13:34-35)
  3. Criterion of appointing a leader at Fuk Lam Church: being faithful to the Great Commission and the calling of God, being a good testimony to the congregation, being filled with the Holy Spirit and full of wisdom. (Acts 6:3)
  4. Fuk Lam Church shall carry a strong sense of mission to seek for the Lord’s vision and send disciples to carry out the Great Commission. (John 20:21; Mark 3:14)
  5. Fuk Lam Church would believe in and depends on God and his words. (Hebrews 11:6; Mark 11:23-24; Matthew 21:22)
  6. Fuk Lam Church believes in prayers and is committed to grow as a community of prayers. (Matthew 21:13)
  7. Fuk Lam Church is committed to carry out the Great Commission to preach the Gospel and to bring the lost to the Lord. (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 4:17-20; 2 Corinthians 5:19-20)
  8. Fuk Lam Church believes in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. (1Corinthians 2:9-14; 2 Corinthians 3:4-5 & 10:3-4)
  9. Leaders of Fuk Lam Church shall equip disciples for ministry and emphasize on discipleship training. (Ephesians 4:11-12; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:42)
  10. Fuk Lam Church values worship. (John 4:23-24; Acts 2:46-47; Colossians 3:16)
  11. Fuk Lam Church believes that the Holy Spirit allows the church to open and to adapt to the timely changes of the society. (Acts 10:15; Isaiah 43:18-19; Romans 12:1)
